Expert jeweler and goldsmith Donna Distefano creates opulent treasures using Fair Trade gemstones and recycled precious metals. Donna Distefano jewelry is made by hand in her New York City Atelier utilizing goldsmithing techniques that have endured for centuries. Her commitment to socially and environmentally responsible sourcing and manufacturing practices are an extension of her desire to change the way America buys jewelry.

By partnering with important charities, Donna Distefano Ltd is able to literally give back to the communities where the gemstones are mined. Collectors of her medieval and Renaissance inspired jewelry include some of the biggest names in entertainment, sports, and fashion. Shortly after a sabbatical in Italy, Distefano launched her namesake company in New York City in 1994. As the sole designer and president of the company, Donna Distefano keeps her focus on custom alloys and hand-made pieces. In an age where there is so much emphasis on mass production, where designers are often preoccupied with making things faster rather than making them more beautiful, Distefano shows her true dedication to jewelry history and her endeavor to retrace the evolution of her craft from antiquity to the present day. Donna Distefano brings the rich tradition of the court jeweler to the modern luxury marketplace while respecting the earth and its population. The collections feature diamond and colored gemstone engagement rings, wedding bands, magnificent cocktail rings, chandelier earrings, jeweled necklaces and pendants.

"It is my hope that my jewelry will inspire an emotional response in my clients who associate their jewels with milestones, rites of passage, and loving memories. My collections are the result of combining Old World art and luxury with a New York edge. It gives me great satisfaction to use techniques that have endured for centuries as I create the heirlooms of tomorrow."
